How are ettitude products green?

ettitude’s products are green on the basis of the following factors:

Materials used in the manufacture of our products share one or more of the following characteristics: sustainably procured, organically grown, recycled, recyclable, natural, and non-toxic.

The manufacturing process of our products involves as much as possible, the use of clean energy and non-polluting processes. While we are not perfect, we and our suppliers are constantly working to reduce our carbon footprints.

Workers hired to make the products are paid a fair wage, and are provided a safe working environment.

What is ettitude doing to reduce its environmental footprint?

We view efficiency and waste reduction as smart business, particularly in our manufacturing processes. Our designers continually innovate with sustainable styles that reduce waste in the design and production processes. We try and keep our packaging to a minimum using biodegradable and recycled materials.

ettitude uses acronyms like GOTS, IMO, OCIA, USDA, Oeko-Tex 100, FSC. What do they mean?

The acronyms are related to certification standards from independent agencies.

GOTS stands for the Global Organic Textile Standard. Managed by the International Working Group on Global Organic Textile Standard, its purpose is to provide a credible and meaningful assurance to the customer, by setting out requirements for organic textiles, from the harvesting of raw materials, through environmentally responsible manufacturing, up to labeling.

IMO The Institute for Marketecology (IMO) is one of the first and most renowned international agencies for inspection, certification and quality assurance of eco-friendly products. 

OCIA International is one of the world's oldest, largest and most trusted leaders in the organic certification industry. A nonprofit, member-owned, agricultural organization, OCIA is dedicated to providing the highest quality organic certification services and access to global organic markets.

USDA The USDA, AMS, National Organic Program (NOP) accredits private businesses, organizations, and state agencies to certify producers and handlers of agricultural products according to the NOP regulations.

Oeko-Tex is an international testing and certification system for textiles, focusing primarily on limiting the use of harmful chemicals in the textile industry. The certification body tests for over 100 harmful substances in the manufacture of textiles, and the list is growing continually.

FSCis an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.

What are ettitude customer service hours?

Our customer service representatives are available by phone from 9 am to 6 pm AEST. During times of unusually high call volumes, you may leave a message and we will respond within four hours if it is within our business hour, and never past 24 hours later.

What are the technical features of the ettitude clothing?

All ettitude clothing is flat-seamed to prevent irritation or chafing of the skin. All items have been preshrunk to ensure a perfect fit for our customers. Our zippers are sewn into our clothing after they have been pre-shrunk so that they do not buckle after you wash them.

How do I wash ettitude clothing?

All the organic cotton and bamboo clothes are machine washable/dryable, and products are pre-shrunk.  For the knitwear, hand wash in cold water, use mild detergent, and dry flat away from heat or sunlight, without pulling. We do not recommend dry cleaning.

To maintain the natural quality of the fabric, we recommend washing it with baking soda or non-chlorine bleach earth-friendlier laundry products (such as our ECO LAUNDRY BALL). Please consider drying with low heat or line drying.

Note that chemicals do not wash off of non-organic fibers any more than chemicals wash off of non-organic foods. The pesticides are in the soil and thus, the root of the plant.

How quickly are orders processed?

All orders placed before 2 PM AEST are processed the same day and shipped the next day. Orders placed after 2 PM AEST are processed the next day, and shipped the day after. Yes, most items can be gift wrapped by our standard gift wrapping for a cost of $3.00 or in our eco-friendly gift wrapping for a cost of $5.00.

What is a wish list and how can I create a Wish List? Or several?  

Wish lists are a way to save and share the products that you want to own. They are the equivalent of a "Gift Registry".

You can create wish lists by visiting our store home page and clicking on "wish lists" at the top of the page. You then login, name and create the wish list. You can add products to the wish list by visiting a product page and clicking "Add to wishlist." To share Wish lists, you can click on “wish list” at the top of any page, click “Edit”, enable sharing, save and click “Share”.

Can I exchange a gift?

Yes, items that are in their original condition, and returned to us may be exchanged for other items. Just let us know what you would like the replacement to be and we will ship it to you. For more information visit our shipping & returns page.

Why does the shipping box I received look like it has been used before?

At ettitude, we strive to live up to our philosophy of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" whenever possible. So, we try to reuse the boxes that our suppliers use to ship products to us whenever the boxes are in good condition. While these boxes will not look pristine, they help us conserve resources, so we hope you will pardon their appearance. We will, however, never reuse boxes that are in poor condition.

How long does it take to process a refund?

Refunds are processed once we receive the item in its original condition, accompanied by the original receipt. However, it may take your credit card issuer one or two billing cycles to reflect the credit.
